Little Women tv ad

Just saw a Little Women ad on tv. The tagline: ...for mothers and daughters.

Since I'm a guy, I'm not a daughter, and even though there are a few people that think I'm a mutha, I feel very excluded from this show.

It did not have Maureen in it.

15 second ad showing the logo. Had a few bars of music and the offensive tagline.

thats very surprising since this whole time they have been saying how the show was for the whole family young and old. All of the interviews with anyone in the show they all say how they see fathers and older men happy and stuff afterwards.

Actually there is another tv ad out there with Maureen and Sutton and you hear a very bland piece of music. If that's the best music they got, it's not gonna last long.

Whatever happened to the great tv ads? I still remember the Evita ad, A Chorus Line ad and the Pippin ad.

The music is all pretty bland, Gotham. Maureen is able to transcend it.

How many little girls are out there watching the 10 O'clock news on Channel 11? For that matter, how many Maureen/Sutton fans are watching the Channel 11 news? Seems like their ad positioning is a bit off.

Gotham, Little Men sucked. Look how hard it's been to make a musical of a GOOD book.

I'm sorry you're bitter and envious that the girl's book rocked and the boys book sucked. But don't take it out on Broadway.

if this was a 15 second spot on the news, it might not be the show's ad or tagline. it seems much more likely that the news station put this on without the show's consent, because the production team for this show would not want that sort of sentiment to be put out. and the book of this show is not weak. it parallels the story that louisa may alcott chose to write very well.

I saw the ad on tv. Actually pretty boring. I wish they would have shown Sutton or Maureen. Or a clip. Or anything. Anyway, I think when people here "for mothers and daughters" it is really bad advertising. What guy is gonna want to go see a show for mothers and daughters. I don't know.

In general, in the "real" world, men don't pick the shows their families go to. It's quite often the wives/mothers and/or daughters, so it's not actually a bad way to target it at all, in fact, it's pretty darn smart.
