I think that the OBCR is great. I adore Sherie and Sierra...just wow. Not to mention Under the Sea sounds great!

I like everyone except Sherie and Norm.

Let me defend myself:
I wanted something out of Ursula, and Sheri is not giving it. I'm terribly dissapointed in her. Does she sound fantastic?...YES. Is She Ursula...NO!

And Norm- I just think he sounds completely ridiculous. I figure, if he can't even act on tape...what's it gonna be like live?

I've seen the show and do enjoy Sheri a lot. I think she was stellar, however I agree with you completely about Norm. He looks awesome, but his performance was truly awful in my opinion. Utterly surprisingly awful.

Yes, the soundtrack is great. Jodi Benson, Pat Carroll, and Samuel Wright are all phenomenal.

Iammyownmusical ~ I actually do agree with you. Sheri just isn't Ursula for me. I can't put my finger on it. I'm not saying she doesn't do an amazing job vocally and on stage, but it's just not Ursula.

And yeah...as much as I love Norm, his performance is pretty throw-away.

Sierra really is perfect for the role. She looks like Ariel should look, she has a beautiful voice, her presence is great... Sherrie does the part great... I think all in all it was really, really well cast.

It's a fantastic SOUNDTRACK, isn't it? I still have my original cassette tape release of it from when the film first arrived in theatres. Samuel Wright and Pat Carroll are perfection.


The cast recording, despite some extraordinary miscasting, is quite enjoyable.
