Nope, they don't... apart from the show in your avatar.

ETA: And the Reduced Shakespeare Company, I think.

This sucks. I'm in London from Sunday morining to Wednesday morning. Does that mean I can only see two shows unless I want to see The Lion King?

Does anyone know where the no-Sunday show in London came from or is it just one of those traditions?

Bronx, it's just a tradition in the West End, it has always been this way.

Some shows have a Tuesday matinee, so you might be able to squeeze three in.

Chitty also does a Sunday matinee.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

The Far Pavilion (in previews now) also has Sunday matinees

we still have 8 shows a week, but they run from monday to saturday instead.

shows with sunday matinees- chitty, reduced shakespeare company (closing soon), lion king and far pavillions (just started previews, directed by gale edwards).

the weekday performance times differ greatly- but for evenings they are generally 7.30, 7.45 or 8. week day matinees can be tuesday, wednesday, thursday or friday. if only friday its likely to be 5 or 5.30, if any other day its likely to be 2.30 or 3.

weekend performance times are generally the same as weekdays, but some shows whose weekday evening performances are at 7.30 will have its saturday evening performance at 8. saturday matinees are 2, 2.30,3 or 4, depending on the show.

many of the long runners have changed there performance times and weekday matinee days over the years - phantom used to be mon to sat eves at 7.45 (its now 7.30) with matinees on wednesday and saturday at 3 (now tuesday and saturday at 2.30).

it would seem to me that the original poster has for opportunities to see a show- sunday, monday evening and both tuesdays.

id recommend-

sunday- lion king
monday- the woman in white
tues mat- phantom
tues eve- we will rock you

re the recently opened mary poppins- theres no hope of it being at tkts, and no hope of booking tickets so near to the performance date- ive found it impossible to get the bst seats as far in advance as june! so i wouldnt waste any time and try to que for returns or nething- see it next time your over (if you are- and if youre going to be, bok in advance! hehe)

to get tkts, either the thatre box office or tkts should be ok, or you can always try seetickets.co.uk or ticketmaster.co.uk to get yourself a head-start.

have a fab time while your over here- and also, check out the theatre museum in covent garden- its fascinating and free entry!
