Hi

I am going to London over Spring Break. I bought tickets to Phantom there, and I was wondering if any one saw it there. If so, did you like it better in NY or UK?

Also, what other musicals are worth seeing in London?

Thanks

Billy Elliot is the best musical currently playing in London. Don't miss it!

It's a play, but I'll recommend it to you anyway: THE WOMAN IN BLACK. Not The Woman in White, but The Woman in BLACK. One of the greatest nights I've ever spent in the theatre. You can easily get a ticket at the TKTS booth or whatever they call it in Leicester Square.

MARY POPPINS is also worth seeing, although it will be coming here in the Autumn.

Well, Woman in White is closed, so I doubt tickets are available.

Piazzaslight didn't want to confuse The Woman in Black with The Woman in White...read Piazzaslight post

I did read it! The only reason she mentioned WIW was probably to differentiate the two. Most people won't have known of Woman in Black. I think that was pretty clear, so that the OP didn't think she had made a mistake. You're missing the point!

First off, erinrebecca, I'm not a SHE, I'm a HE.

And yes, I am completely aware that WiW has closed in London, and over here. I just mentioned it to differentiate the two shows, since they have very similar titles, so people won't get them mixed up. So erinrebecca was right about that.

Ay ay ay...

Guys and Dolls and Mary Poppins will also be on - and tickets are more available for them. I saw G&D lately with it's new, less starry cast and really enjoyed it. Mack & Mabel will be opening previews - but not till 5 April....

For non-musicals there's some great work going on at the National including Southwark Fair. Royal Hunt of the Sun will be opening 30 March there. Christian Slater will be back in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - which was very good last time out.
