Just came across a link to the upcoming All-start CHESS concerts in London.
Enjoy!
(I really hope they record/release this).

I picked up the flyer for this when I was at Royal Albert Hall last week. I wish I could see it!

I'd rather have Kerry and Idina switch roles.

JBSinger, when Idina Menzel came to the 92nd St. Y in NYC she stated that they will in fact record the London Chess Concert. =)

Is Florence always suppose to be older then Anatoly? I am just saying because this isn't the first time I have seen a rather large age gap between the two.

LePetite, they're recording a cast album.

*edit: in the script it states Florence is younger* Updated On: 4/8/08 at 04:51 AM

Thank you DidYouReallyHearMe. I swore I was once told Anatoly & Svetlana where in their forties and not their 20s/early 30s (since as said Florences age is the one age expliciately stated (she was 6 during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 and the show is set in 1984).

The show is set in '84 or '77 depending on which version you see.

But that would make Florence 34.

It is stated that Florence is in her early-mid 30s. So you would be correct.

Anatoly is in his 40s.
Freddie is in his late 30s to eary 40s.
Svetlana - late 30s.

Oh my god I think she is perfect for this part!

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

I didn't see the show so I'm only offering opinions from the you tube links I've watched but it seems like Idina Menzel played the role a bit more subtle. If that is the case, from the clips I would say it was a very good choice.

Going by the West End board and also Dress Circle, Idina was beyond awful, with missed lines, screaming and looked bored. On the other hand Kerry was wonderful and was the saving grace, from reading some of the reviews it seems this was not worth it...

The above is only what i have taken from reading other forums about this concert.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian
