Long Day's Journey Into Follies

Long Day's Journey Into Follies

Watching the tape of the Kennedy Center Follies, I was really struck by Sally's final "It is tomorrow" and how similar that moment is to the end of "Long Day's Journey Into Night," with Mary Tyrone's "I fell in love with James Tyrone and was so happy for a time," with a woman, descending into madness in the heartbreaking present, referring back to a brief, happier time.

Anyone else?

Watching what tape? I don't care if it was an audience recording/not trying to be one of those bootleg shamers but just want to make sure there isn't an archival recording I'm not aware of?

Sorry, "tape" is the wrong word. Youtube. Whole thing is posted (currently).

Intriguing comparison, but I am not sure I agree.  Sally is a lot further from the comfort of denial at the end of "Follies," whereas Mary is still mired in it at the end of "Long Day's Journey Into Night."
