There was talk of a jukebox musical about the story of popstar Kylie Minogue several years ago. Guess it was just talk.

I remember some discussion and press, around a proposed musical of Shaw's MAJOR BARBARA, with Julie Andrews. Of course, it never happened.

Kander and Ebb wanted to do "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?", but they couldn't get the rights to it. So, they decided to do their own Depression-era, dance marathon musical "Steel Pier".

"Time and Again" finally made it Off-Broadway with a much changed story line.

There is, of course, "13 Days to Broadway", Cy Coleman's show about a show out of town, in trouble, based on his show that closed out of town "Home Again, Home Again" and using several songs from the score. Liz Callaway recorded one song from it "You There In The Back Row".

And I remember a musical based on "Captain America", but the Captain is now middle aged and his girlfriend is President of the United States and is being held hostage by terrorists. John Cullum was supposed to star in it and there were some publicity photos of him in the costume.

There was "Grover's Corners" by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, based on "Our Town."
"A coherent existance after so many years of muddle" - Desiree' Armfelt, A Little Night Music "Life keeps happening everyday, Say Yes" - 70, Girls, 70 "Life is what you do while you're waiting to die" - Zorba

When I was living in New York (in the mid-'80s), there was an official notice posted on the audition board at Actors' Equity for upcoming principle auditions for "Sunset Boulevard - The Musical," written by Stephen Sondheim and starring Angela Lansbury. That noice was up for about 2-3 months before it was eventually taken down.

There was a lot of buzz about it, but it never happened. I always wondered "what might have been."
