Amazed that someone else on earth actually knows what "More Than You Deserve" is! "Go, Go, Go Guerillas" musically reappears as "The Joker's Song" in the unproduced "Batman" musical Steinman did with Ives. "Come with me..." is the main theme that reappears in "Tanz der Vampire", the true version and not "Dance of the Vampires". But that is Jim's favourite chord progression which also appears in at least 5 other songs he's composed. There's a lot of music in that score he hasn't reused.

Another "lost" Steinman score is "The Confidence Man" musical with Ray Fox. That's my favourite show Jim's ever been involved with. As a matter of fact, you can now read Ray's highly interesting blog @ http://sonofthecucumberking.blogspot.com

It's well worth checking out.

What was the name of the play aout a lovely Jewish lady who married a hapless Irishman? The poor lady had one disappointment after another. It had a French title and I believe it translated to "Mr. Roxy's Honeyomoon".

There's actually a movie version of DON'T PLAY US CHEAP, isn't there?

I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."

^ You beat me to Dr. Jazz. Best flop ever. (Next to Lestat, of course!)

I remember seeing at least two that stick in my mind.

I'm Solomon with Dick Shawn, ran a few days from Apri 23 to April 27 1968.

Onward Victoria with Jill Eikenberry open and closed on the same night, Dec 14 1980.

And of course, there's always "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue"

I wish there could be a new recording of the score - "A White House Cantata" doesn't do the score justice, especially those snooze-worthy performances from the opera singers (especially June Anderson).

I'm proud to say I worked on two of the biggest: "Dance A Little Closer", and "The Little Prince And The Aviator"

70 Girls 70 has a revised version for a small cast (10) which has been done by lots of small theatre companies. We did it in 1998.
