...continuously and with no breaks.
OK, let me clarify...one actor, doing one show, with "no breaks" doesn't include vacation or hiatus, ok? just means they stayed with that show for a long time.
Looking for the longest...obviously I donn't know the answear, that's why I'm asking

Most actors get a vacation every year, and wisely use them. I doubt you're going to find someone who did a show for years and years without taking a week's vacation when they were entitled to it.
That one guy has been in Phantom since it opened (can't remember his name). He's obviously taken vacations, but in terms of being in one show for a long period of time, he obviously would hold the record, since Phantom is the longest running show in Broadway history.

I think you're thinking of George Lee Andrews, Adam!
He's been with PHANTOM since day one, but has changed roles...

adamgreer, that's what I meant when I tried to clarify that, of course, vacations would not take away from being on the show "continuosly".
TomMonster, thanks for the answear, unless anyone else can contest that...

There's nothing to contest...Phantom has played more performances than any other show on Broadway, and Andrews has been there since day 1. It would be impossible for someone to have played more performances in a single show.
Second place would probably go to Marlene Danielle, who did the entire run of Cats.

Wow! You know your Broadway!
Thanks :) I believe it, since POTO is definitely the longest running. Is that second place a sure bet also...?

Didn't Julie Andrews play Eliza Doolittle for like 48 months?

Bill Nabel is up there , mayve third to those two.
He started with BEAUTY AND THE BEAST in Texas and did the entire New York run.
George Lee Andrews left Phantom for a while to do the role of Frederick in New York City Opera's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC around 1994 (?). But he then went back to Phantom directly, I think. So he probably still holds any length of service record.
