re: Looking for Hairspray clip

You're asking us?

Yes, I do sing. Baritone/bass/countertenor here.

I have never tried the olive oil trick, so I don't know.

I HAVE tried honey. Honey works. Perhaps it's psychosomatic, but I think it works.

re: Looking for Hairspray clip

re: Looking for Hairspray clip

Oh, yes. My voice is all done changing. I can just sing/belt alto, mezzo-soprano and soprano, as well as sing baritone/bass. It comes in handy. And it's great at parties, too! re: Looking for Hairspray clip

re: Looking for Hairspray clip

My friend was in the Philadelphia Boys Chorus and he sang thru puberty and he can hit super high notes in faslestto... its very funny... yet kinda scary

re: Looking for Hairspray clip

He is probably a countertenor, like myself. Except I use a mix of head and chest voice, and then for the super high notes, I use only head voice.

re: Looking for Hairspray clip

anyone can hit high notes in falsetto...thats what its for.
Although, ive only recently started to train my falsetto so its kinda week at the momment. falsetto is like the male version of belting.
ya..also called head voice...

joshua488, whats your highest note? (chest)

re: Looking for Hairspray clip

No, if a man is singing in his falsetto, he cannot "belt" those notes. Falsetto is very airy. Otherwise, he is probably using a mix of chest and head voice.

re: Looking for Hairspray clip

why isn't edna in the clip? i've noted that with the exception of seacrest and the tony's i've never seen an enda in a televised version of that number. (can't recall the thanksgiving day performance tho)

re: Looking for Hairspray clip

i dont mean like screaming belting...ummm..how can i explain...did you watch the Academy awards? I think it was Beyonce who sang, well everytime she twitched she'd be "belting"...argh, this is hard to explain. im just gonna give up on this one...

oh, and might i add...Beyonce was horrible at the Academy Awards!

and if you train your falsetto it wont be all that airy

for a video of you cant stop the beat go to:
You Cant Stop the Beat
"Let the little girl go, and that poor little dog? Dodo." That's my favorite line in the whole show (Wicked). My next favorite line is "Oh! It seems the artichoke is steamed."
