Looking for a female musical duet.#0

Hi my name is Lois and me and my friend, Nicole, are doing a musical duet for our district competition for high school theater. We would be internally grateful if we could have a bit of help. We don't know where to look at all!!! What we know already is Nicole has an AMAZING voice, where as mine is good too, but I have been more focused on charterazation and blocking. We are primarily looking for a duet to fit both these attributes. Good characterzation, but again if possible with good vocals. If you could get back to me on this messageboard, or if need be, my myspace link is. www.myspace.com/loloice Thanks again it is much appriciated.

Posted: 9/28/06 at 3:52pmI think there are some female duets in volume two of the Musical Theatre Anthology Duets.

Posted: 9/28/06 at 10:06pmI recommend "Bosom Buddies" from "Mame", you can work in lots of characterization and show off some good vocal skills.

"Bosom Buddies" is good for characterization, but you need to be of a certain age to pull that off and make it effective.
"What you Don't Know About Women" could be easily acieved by college-age girls. It has killer vocals as well as room for outstanding character.

"The Stepsister's Lament", "Marry the Man Today", and "What you Don't Know About Women" are all great for comedy, and "A Boy Like That-I Have A Love", "My Own Best Friend", "Nowadays", and "Class" are all good for something with more of a punch.

Why not make "Anything You Can Do" from ANNIE GET YOUR GUN a female-female duet?!
I also once saw a performance of "Adelaide's Lament" (GUYS AND DOLLS) as a duet, the other playing "the patient" (=Adelaide) and the other playing a doctor singing all the "In other words..." parts. Worked surprisingly well!
Others:
My Friend - THE LIFE
Take Me Or Leave Me - RENT (too risqué?)
I Still Believe - MISS SAIGON
Who Will Love Me As I Am? - SIDE SHOW
Leave Me Alone - SIDE SHOW
I Will Never Leave You - SIDE SHOW

Posted: 10/1/06 at 7:07pmdef. agree that the side show ones are great....but so must the people. mediocre attempts def. do not work with those songs.
