My voice teacher wants me to sing a song that a former student sang, but she can't remember what show it is from. She said the song is called RKO and is a man reflecting on going to the movies as a child. Does this ring a bell for anyone?
Sounds vaguely like 'Science Fiction/Double Feature' from Rocky Horror. It's the opening song to the show and is a series of old film references, and RKO is mentioned.
Sounds like Larger Than Life from My Favorite Year.
I agree with TIMMERBO, but isnt' Columbia singing that song?...
I forgot...

Good thread, I'm always looking for songs for my voice lessons. Don't have any now for you, but Wicked and Rent are always good choices (I'm not just saying that because I like the shows, just because they have great songs).

It's definitely LARGER THAN LIFE from MY FAVORITE YEAR
Yes! I am sure that is "Science Fiction Double Feature". Columbia sings that song? I thought it was Riff-Raff. Who knows, you are probably right...

Jean Vel Jean in Les Miz. Definately
(but in all seriousness, it is larger than life-good song too!)
Thanks everyone for your help! I had a lesson today and as soon as I mentioned My Favorite Year, my voice teacher remembered that the song she had in mind is indeed Larger Than Life.
