I know Alice Ripley did a recording of this song, and I think did the reading for the show. I know Idina Menzel played the part for the tryouts!

who else has played Dorothy, the war torn bride who sings "Losing Track of Time"?

Kate Jennings Grant played Dorothy at the Mountain View Performing Arts Center in Mountain View CA. The summer of '01

Idina Menzel did the part up at Godspeed Opera's Norma Terris Theatre in Chester Connecticut-was that the tryouts? I have to add that "Losing Track of Time" has recently become a favorite song of mine...it is so sweet!

But completely out of musical character for "Summer of 42."

I couldn't say because I haven't seen the show and that is the only song I know from it. I'll take your word for it though.

you mean out of context from the movie, or from the musical itself?

I saw this show when it was off-Broadway and I loved it! I'm sorry to those of you who thought it was bad...but I really enjoyed it! I saw the last show, and the audience was so supportive and a totally full house!

Rachel York played the part in Forth Worth, TX. i believe it was last summer or the summer befor that
