Donna Murphy's "Surabaya Johnny" alone is worth buying this recording.

That's nice to know...I am always happy when I hear that a New Musical will be recorded or preserved. Though personally I did not like this musical, but I love Donna Murphy and would love to hear her sing " Speak Low"... I guess the only musical that was not recorded this season was "The Times- They -Are- Changing".
-Too bad ! I like Michael Arden a lot ! (BTW- One of my favorite Off Broadway Recording was the Bare : Pop Opera and of course-- Bat Boy ! )

The Apple Tree wasn't recorded...unless of course you're referring to new musicals.

yup-I am referering to New Musicals only, not Revivals bec. some of them was already recorded -- I wish "the Apple Tree" was recorded though ( but not Les Miz ..please ! ) though I heard that 2 of the songs ( What Makes Me Love Him and I dont know the other one ? ) from Apple Tree will be at the new Kristin Chenoweth's CD... if she hasnt change her mind yet after the Tonys snub. lol !

I wish Les Mis had been recorded, just so I can listen to Alex and Norm sing that score again and again, but I suppose the billion other Les Mis recordings available will have to suffice.

and dont forget my fellow Filipino & Tony Award winner actress ---LEA SALONGA... I would kill to hear her sing.." I Dreamed a Dream" but you are right-- there's like a
million recording of this musical in all conceivable language..Though I love the French version the best.. I dont understand it, but just love the accent bec. its so cute =)

This was a godawful show, save for Donna and Michael's performances. Thank goodness their lovely renditions of these songs and Jonathan Tunick's wonderful orchestrations will be preserved.

TheActr97J- Are you talking about LoveMusik? if yes.. I agree with you.. Its an awful show! but I wouls still buy the OBCR bc. I would love to hear Donna Murphy & Michael Cerveris-j*
