kinda funny...http://community.tvguide.com/thread.jspa?threadID=700011983
TVGuide.com has exclusively learned of another upcoming Luke and Laura sighting: On Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 2 pm/ET — that's tomorrow! — they will crash a matinee performance of The Wedding Singer at Broadway's Hirschfeld Theatre.
Here's the situation: During the show's first act, George (Kevin Cahoon) and Sammy (American Idol's Constantine Maroulis) are cheering up their friend Robbie (Stephen Lynch), a groom who was jilted at the altar. Noticing that Robbie's predicament seems a lot like a soap opera, George brings up the subject of General Hospital and Luke and Laura. That's when Geary and Francis will pop in for a cameo as Luke and Laura themselves!
FYI, tomorrow's matinee gig is a one-time-only thing for the General Hospital stars. Wedding Singer writers Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy rewrote a scene just for the fun of squeezing them in.

That is kinda strange...and how old would these people be by now?!
Eh, I'm all for it if it boosts sales, but considering it's only been announced now, what's the point? (Unless it was spread to all the soap magazines and stuff and we just didn't know it.)
HAHAHAHA im gonne be there!!!!!!!!! this should DEFF be INTERESTING! lol
omigod! interesting!

I dont think it has anything to do with boosting sales. It's just for fun. Plus boosting sales won't do anything anymore. My mom was saying how Luke and Laura are getting married again on the show and they've been making apperances. It's a big deal in the soap opera world I am assuming

Old enough to have become icons of the genre and part of the consciousness of American Pop Culture - which is considerably more than anything associated with this musical will ever achieve.

Whoa DG, I completely didn't mean it like that.
I just meant that considering this is set in the 80s, those actors will be older and probably not LOOK like they did in the 80s. I didn't mean anything against them at all.
Like anyone is going to care if they still look like they did in the '80s.
Pop culture ICONS.

No they won't look like they did in the 80's. It's not like it's a permanent thing in the show. It's one apperance for the fun of it since they are mentioned in the show. No need to analyze how they will look and stuff. Most storylines and characters last forever on soap operas so Luke and Laura isn't even a thing of the past
on the subject of cameos i still stand by the fact that cyndi lauper should play her impersonator for one performance

No big deal, Mistress - just making an observation.
I'd lay money that no audience reaction will come close to what happens when they appear on stage.

Understatement. Amusing. Heh.
Man...I went through a GH phase...I'm really tempted to go to WS tomorrow...okay I won't it's more like I'm gonna wish I'd go, tchi please post what happens, even if you know nothing about them, I'm very curious.
They def do look much older, especially Luke. But people are on soap operas for over 30 years. It's not like they've disappeared off the face of the earth since the beginning of the 80s. Just...first statement...understatement.

scary, I remember when they got married on GH in the '80's. It was a huge deal then..so to the GH fans who get to see this I'm sure it's going to be a huge huge deal (I was like 10 when they got married the firs time..young homo watching mom's soaps...wonder how she ever knew I was a homo before I did)

as if the same audience for wedding singer the musical would care if luke and laura are there. I saw these two on the view this morning, bored me to tears!!! and to top it off a horrendous performance of trashing the camp from tarzan.. it was awkward at best.

ICE - I think you might be surprised by what that audience is going to respond to. They're there for a walk down memory lane through the 80's - and Luke and Laura are a part of that history. There's a REASON they're a part of the script! And the few theater screamers here do NOT comprise the majority of that audience.

I really wish I could be there, because there will be a Huge reaction. I did get the opportunity to see them this past weekend at WDW super soap weekend where they made a Very rare public appearance (even in their hayday they made none together). This is the 25th anniversary of 'The Wedding' (over 300 million people worldwide watched them get married and a cast member told me that over 20 Thousand people showed up to see them at MGM on 11/11).
Anyone that goes please review when you get home!
Good heavens, ICA. Talk about a stunted world view.

Wow! I'd sit through it to see that!
"They def do look much older, especially Luke."
Actually I ran into Luke last night after I saw Jersey Boys and he looks amazingly younger than he does on TV, but granted he looks older than he was in the 80's lol.
Very cool, lotte!
wait. soap opera icons are allowed to age?
Unless they're children, yes.
