Lyric change in Out Tonight

I was listening to the clips from the RENT movie site and I noticed that in Out Tonight Rosario sings "We won't be back until its New Year's Day", but in the OBC its "We won't be back until its Christmas Day". Has anyone else noticed this?

re: Lyric change in Out Tonight

I read somewhere that when Collins introduces Angel to Roger and Mark at the beginning of "Today 4U" the line has been changed from:

"Gentleman, our benefactor on this Christmas Eve, whose charity is only matched by talent, I believe"

to:

"Gentleman our benefactor on this Christmas Day, whose charity is only matched by talent, I must say."

It seems the majority of the first half might take place on Christmas Day as opposed to Christmas Eve now.

No, I can't. It isn't out yet and it'd be illegal to own it and against the rules to discuss it here. re: Lyric change in Out Tonight

"We won't be back back before it's Christmas day"

I wonder why the date change?

the thing that makes me mad is that Mark doesn't talk in 3rd person during Goodbye love...very odd...

Maybe it's just because I'm used to the old lyrics, but that sounds weird to me.

The lyric changes are nothing major. Mostly just the references to the day the songs take place. Since the movie is more drawn out (it doesnt all take place on Christmas Day), thats completely understandable.

re: Lyric change in Out Tonight

Yeah, the first part of the movie takes place over the course of a few days, not 3 hours like in the stage show.

I think it'll be fine, and the changes in the songs aren't that major.

In light my candle after... "do you go to the cat scratch club? Thats where I work, I dance, help me look!"...the help me look was taken out, and now he just says yeah... a bit lamely...

...just an unimportant observation...
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

Hmm
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

The paticular lyric can be legally heard on the clips on the official site, so discussing shouldn't be illegal...
