Alright..... I KNOW Many people agree that Mamma Mia isn't the best show around, but the music can be fun.. and the original Broadway cast was VERY talented and blew the original London cast TOTALLY out of the water.

We missed out having Louise Pitre, Tina Maddigan, Joe Machota, Karen Mason, and Judy Kaye's perfromances recorded
and were stuck with the drivvel that is the original London cast performing with helium sounding voices and jiving to, in some numbers, truncated versions of songs with lines and entire verses changed from one character to another....

But now there is a GERMAN cast recording of Mamma Mia, recorded LIVE during a perfromance, which in the cast of Mamma Mia, is a GREAT asset to it I think.

WHY?!?

It is beyond me why they recorded it in German!!! But that's musical theatre in Germany for you, and not surprisingly it's a sell-out. Lord, help us.

If there is a recording of Mamma Mia, it should at least be better than the London cast recording. now THAT is one of the worst cast recordings I have ever heard. If you are going to create a CD, at least do it right. A CD like this of the original Broadway cast (I have long loved many of those principals -- both ones I knew before Mamma Mia and the ones I discovered when I saw it) who have been much preferable.

I'm not surprised that you think the UK cast recording is bad. This all comes back to the fact that the Brits can't do musicals! Simple as that. Anything Goes is the big exception at the moment.

I am also not a big fan of the LCR of Mamma Mia (Sophie just misses that note in "Thank You for the Music)But the German one souds fun and heck it's in German! Always fun to learn a song in another language.
