For those looking for a terrific production of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE ... you need to look no further than White Plains, NY. I saw the production mentioned on the local NEWS 12 cable channel last week & attended the show last Friday night at Stepinac High School. I saw the original on Broadway in 2002 & have been waiting for a local production of it ever since.

The show was a witty & fun musical comedy in a grand style. The caliber of the performances was extraordinary and the leads are all top-notch singers. The choreography & costumes are out of this world with some great tap numbers & authentic 1920's garb. The set-design was great & actually include an 'elevator' built into the set. Best of all, the orchestra was not over-powering like so many local productions.

Anyone who missed the show on Broadway should definitely make a point to catch the show this weekend for its final performances. And if you have seen it & love it like I do - go see it again !
