Posted: 1/23/09 at 2:03amReviews? Please. I'm looking forward to seeing it, but I just had a call from a pretty savvy group of musical theater professionals who said it was one of the worst things they've ever seen. And they're not reviewers either. The person doing the "reviewing" on ATC is an odd duck who regularly and at every possible opportunity trashes 9 to 5. I'm hoping to enjoy it, but really, it's a little soon for the "GLORIOUS!"

Posted: 1/23/09 at 2:14amActually, more than one person "reviewed" it, so it's not just one's person's opinion over at ATC. Some people liked it more than others but they all offered lots of specifics for their views.

Posted: 1/23/09 at 10:54amI thought this thread was going to be about the official reviews from the critics. It's very misleading, but great for a shady marketing strategy. You should definitely contact the producers.

Posted: 1/23/09 at 1:27pmThat seens like sometheen I would rilly enjoy see-een. But I have to wait until I hear about people enjoyeen it so much that right after curtain call they immediately go back to the box office to buy more tickets. THAT'S how you know a show is supposed to be amaze-een.

A friend said he saw it and called it "pedestrian". He also said, "I liked it better when it was called GUYS AND DOLLS".

Posted: 1/23/09 at 3:09pmI saw the first preview, and thought the show was great! Sure, it had its flaws and one or two scenes, especially one involving whipped cream were just begging to be cut, but what first preview doesn't? The choreography was excellent, the book was sharp, and it made for a great night of theater.

Posted: 1/23/09 at 5:55pmI would never cut a scene with whipped cream.
