MISIA, SOMETHING ROTTEN, ON THE 20TH CENTURY, GIGI - CDs Reviews

Last week I bought four cast recordings and I was really pleased with my choices. MISIA is a wonderful surprise with a fabulous Marin Mazzie in the title role and a score by Vernon Duke that grows on you. I don’t like all the songs from SOMETHING ROTTEN, but it’s a funny score with more than a couple of good songs. The new ON THE 20^TH CENTURY is highly entertaining and, you can kill me, I prefer it to the original Broadway cast. Finally, there’s GIGI, an enjoyable and lively recording of this famous musical.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen the show. I live to far away, in Lisbon, Portugal. But I believe it may work better on stage.
