The new owners of the Chicago Cubs, the Ricketts family, includes a lesbian sister, Laura, who will sit on the Board.

A person on another message board I frequent posted this interview (excerpt):
Cubs Press Conference and Interview with Laura Ricketts, first Openly Gay MLB Owner
...
MTM: How does it feel to be the first openly gay major league baseball owner?
LR: I don't know what it's like to be a regular old Major League owner much less the first openly gay one. Give me a few months and then maybe I can adjust to that role and I'll tell you.
MTM: Do have any messages you would like to say to the GLBT Cub fans?
LR: I think that the Cubs appreciate diversity and welcome it and are supportive of the LGBT community already before my involvement and I see that continuing certainly. The LGBT community is part of the Chicago community and we want to be part of that.

Chicago Tribune: Ricketts family ready for full Cubs commitment
"Tom Ricketts runs a small investment bank; Laura Ricketts is a lawyer but spends more of her time working with public-interest groups focused on women and gay and lesbian civil rights; Todd Ricketts manages his investments, including a bike shop in Highland Park. Only Pete Ricketts is used to the public spotlight after running for the U.S. Senate in Nebraska. He lives in Omaha, where he invests in startup companies and is involved in Republican politics."

Off topic board, buddy.
Gah, sorry, I thought this was on the off-topic board when I posted this. Is there a way to move it?
