OK everyone. I know last's week's quiz--Champagne Lyricists was tough. It was for those of you who complained you weren't be challenged. This week is another story.

Time to raise your awareness of Broadway's great past. Take a stab at this week's quiz. This was specifically created to help you score higher than ever. It's fun. It's easy. It's a guessing game. It's a game of trivia and musical theatre knowledge.

Make yourself a batch of BWG2's delicious home-made French Fries (see O-T Board) and take a stab.

Who was Frank Loesser? What shows did he write? Was he better known in Hollywood before he came to Broadway? Why did he close a show directed and choreographed by Bob Fossee before it came to Broadway? What Hollywood musical comedy star recorded more Loesser film songs than any other? How does one succeed in business without really trying?

Increase your knowledge of the greats of Broadway! Have fun! Meet new friends!

Drop me a line and let me know what you think of More of Loesser

Cheers!

I would have scored a perfect 10 if it weren't for that B!+ch Bette Davis.

Related story...

Frank wrote the now famous holiday song "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" to be sung in the summertime. That is the joke..."Maybe it's much too early in the game (ie Summer) but what are you doing New Year's eve?" It appearently irked him to no end that it became a song sung primarily during the holiday season, since the joke was lost.

Thanks, Bulldog.

PEACE.

The Bette Davis number "They're Either Too Young Or Too Old" is deservedly a classic, but THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS has some other fabulous numbers including "Ice Cold Katie (Wontcha Marry the Soldier)" sung by Hattie McDaniel & Willie Best, "The Dreamer" by 'farmerette' Dinah Shore and my special favorite, "Love Isn't Born, It's Made", sung and swung by the dreamy Ann Sheridan in the kickiest snood ever filmed!

"Love Isn't Born/On a beautiful April morn/ Love isn't born/ It's made!/ And that's why every window has a windowshade!"

"So, my precious young dove, If you're dreamin' of love, better make the most of your charms/ For you'll never remain on the gentlemen's brain/ till you're in the gentleman's arms!"

They don't make 'em like THAT anymore. Songs OR Dames! re: re: re: re: MORE of LOESSER - New Quiz up by Broadway Bulldog

As of now 260 of you have been daring enough to take this week's quiz.

CONGRATULATIONS!

You've proven yourselves brave enough to be exposed to one of past's great creators of musical theatre. Yes, I know it's not contemporary and Loesser isn't on the board to chat with you. But you know what? He was smart enough to say it all in his words and music.

You will continue to see GUYS AND DOLLS, HOW TO SUCCEED..., THE MOST HAPPY FELLA, WHERE'S CHARLEY? in the years to come. Take a chance today to be ahead of the crowd then.

Enjoy, have fun, and learn why the past greats set the bar for tomorrow's talent to surpass.

So far, nearly 300 members have dared to test their knowledge of musical theatre history.

Venture where no can of hairspray has sprayed.

Sneak into a world free of the wicked.

Stroll through the little shop of musical theatre classics.

It sure is a wonderful town but sometimes one has to cross avenue q to learn that beauty existed before.

The quiz is not taboo.

Chicago is full of cabarets but you won't find assassins there.

Don't be a gyp, see how well you score.

Even a fiddler on the roof can't resist the lure of More of Loessser.

More of Loesser, the Quiz!

Yours for more Loesser on Broadway!!
