Yeah, I have seen Tyne Daly and Linda Lavin and and Midler (TV)Bernadette, and I can say that Lavin found a lot of humor but her singing was not what Bernadette could do. Bernadette was sometimes very funny, but her acting in the songs was much better than her scenework. I just think that role, along with the older Louise's, is fraught with challenges. I wish I could have seen Merman and Lansbury. I actually kind of liked Midler, but I'm definitely in the minority there.
