From Broadway.com:
"Lanford Wilson's Talley's Folly, which was expected to star Cynthia Nixon, will no longer be part of Manhattan Theatre Club's 2005-2006 season. The production was canceled because of casting issues, according to a production spokesperson.
An MTC spokesperson told Broadway.com that Talley's Folly is still a possibility for a future season. A replacement for the open slot at the Biltmore Theatre will be announced shortly."
It's a shame. I was really looking forward to seeing Nixon on stage again.

When they do revive it, I hope they use John Lee Beatty's original set design. It is one of my favorite sets ever, truly beautiful.
I'm very dissapointed. I was really looking forward to this.

I bet they couldn't get Nixon to agree to any of their choices. Plenty of excellent talent out there. What were the casting issues?
Given that it's a two-character play, I guess they couldn't find a sufficient leading man (I can't imagine how, though).
