Thank you, Daniel2 - that was funny :)
Yes, ANOTHER gay camp show... and WHAT is wrong with that?? What is wrong with wanting to entertain people, and make them laugh? There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with straight campy romantic comedies... so why not gay ones?
I will never understand why, on a theater board like this, there is SO much homophobia! How disappointing!

Posted: 11/6/07 at 6:00pmIt's not homophobia in the least. In fact, it's the opposite. It's about a overwhelming thirst for more diversity in gay theatre. How about a gay romantic comedy in a more classic sense? Something that doesn't revolve around camp, stereotypes, drag queens or HIV. Unfortunately, I find the description of this show more depressing than thrilling. I'm just tired of these types of shows. Gays have had a long-standing reputation for being creative, but maybe we've finally broken that stereotype. Hooray. Where's the circuit party?

Posted: 11/6/07 at 6:10pmA friend of mine who just moved to Toronto (and who somtimes posts on here...) was asked to help design this back in the Summer--I hope he's still involved--anyway looks pretty... Random but it's a silly small show, Id on't really get all the instant hatred from some.

Many people voiced their animosity towards the creation of Xanadu, Legally Blonde, revivals and virtually any jukebox musical. Mine isn't instant hatred. Just disappointment. But that's only how I feel. For those who are thrilled and overjoyed, then more power to them. I hope they buy hundreds of tickets.
