MY HAIR REVIEW!!

#0MY HAIR REVIEW!!

Everyone else on the board seemed to hate it but I try to put things in perspective--they had virtually no rehearsal time (the leads that is) and I just loooooooooooove the show and the music, so heres my review of a show which I thought rocked the casba.

Aquarius opened with Lillias white who, naturally, was awsome. I thought the opening could have been more "spacey considering we're supposed to be hippies," but Lillias was really great.

Donna left something to be desired. It just wasn't good.

Hashish was good and done by the ensemble. It had more harmony than the CD, so it was enjoyable.

Jai Rodriguez gave an awsome performance of Sodomy. He really does have quite an awsome voice.

Ana Gasteyer has a really awsome voice suprisingly. She was belting quite awsomely in Dead End and it was really an awsome surprise.

I believe in love was done by shoshana bean and let me tell you, she can riff like no other white jewish girl! She worked the audience too--she's definately a huge star in waiting.

A wonderful rendition of Air was sung by the lovely Harvey Fierstein, who ued 3 notes to sing it but it was really funny.

Don't put it down was sung by Chris Seiber and John Tartaglia, who was quite funny. It was a cute little number.

I got life was done awsomely by Adam Pascal, a really great number with awsome movement.

A shirtless Gavin Creel did an awsomely rocking version of Going down, where he worked the crowd and I was surprised by the rock sound he used.

Ru Paul COMPLETELY forgot the words to my conviction. The freaking conductor had to yell them out and she still didn't get it at all. The audience didn't seem to appreicate it much.

Easy to be Hard was done AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAZINGLY by jennifer Hudson, who hit notes in the stratosphere that frankly gave me the chilliest chills ever.

Okay, this is getting long, so I'll just give you the highlights, if you want more, post that you do and ill give you all the songs, but this is getting long.

Electric Blues I have a few things to say: TOXIC AUDIO IS TOO AMAZING AND THEY NEED TO BE ON A BROADWAY STAGE ASAP BECAUSE THEY BLEW THE ROOF OFF, well in my opinion anyway.

Black Boys/white boys: Brought the house down-kathy brier, ann harada among the 6 girls, and it was just ridiculously amazing.

Frank Mills was cute done by the original Chrissy.

Walking in Space had NUDITY apparently--I didn't see any because I was too far up, but apparently some people get NEKED!!

3-5-0-0: Had a nice little tap number in it when it went uptempo.

Let the Sunshine in was awsome with Dequina more riffing it up!! The ensemble really was amazing and was on stage for 90% of the show. They really deserve a lot of credit--they were awsome.

Yes, people kept cutting lines off from one another and words were messed up and it didn't seem as well put together as one might think it would be if they spent $2500 on a ticket, but I didn't spent a tenth of that and I had loads of fun!!

OOOH!! AND Here's my story!!
During intermission, Brian Stokes Mitchell walked by!!
After the show when I was walking to the car, JOHN TARTAGLIA, Gavin Creel and Ann Harada walked by me!!! I was too scared to say anything though.

All in all, a GREAT NIGHT!!!

I'm not kidding--I kept things in mind thinking "the posters want to know this!!" I had to let the people who couldn't come at least get a picture of what it was like!!

The show was excellent! Adam Pascal is the king!!! raul espraza was amazing, he told me that he would be starting a movie soon and would be in a musical next year. Jennifer Hudson should have been the American idol she was the second best one next to Adam. Euan was really great as well, I can't wait to see him in 2 weeks in caligula. rupaul kinda messed up, but what do u expect he could hardly walk up the stairs himself!! Harvey was hysterical. Jm j bullock was hysterical as well, he threw a black affrow wig into the audience which I caught and will treasure (jk) lillias was amazing also, jai rodriguez was good as well but a little under used he had waist length extensions in his hair that looked really funny, at the post party he said they were just for the show. Gavin creel was very good and john tartaglia was very funny also. for a one time only show i thought it was terrific

Dammit! Donna is by far my favorite song in that show!!

Who sang it? And why was it lackluster? This makes me upset...

One of the main problems I (and my wife) had was that at times I had no idea who was singing. Would have been better if they listed who was singing what in the program. I don't know them all by sight. Plus, we were i the mezz and had no idea what was happening in the orchestra when the orchetsra was addressed at times. Generally a good show, but how come none of the majors got undressed?? - lol

"how come none of the majors got undressed??"

That is incredibly tragic. There was some definite potential for really good nude scenes in that cast. re: MY HAIR REVIEW!!

Okay, I'll get my mind out of the gutter now. After all, it's only 9 a.m. Glad y'all enjoyed, for the most part!

Thanks for your review. From what you said, it sounds like RuPaul had no business being there.

Ebonic, thanks for the review and I'm glad you got your money's worth. Any more opinions on Adam Pasca;? (yes, I am hopeless.)
