re: Macy's THANKSGIVING day parade

Always lip-synched. When they sing on parade floats, it is live singing. Why not the Broadway performances?

This very thread was started last week. Ah well, its posted again.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

LSOH didnt lip-synch last year. At least I dont think, because if they were, they were doing a REALLY good job :)

re: Macy's THANKSGIVING day parade

They definitely lip synched Little Shop last year. Kerry did a good job, but Hunter messed up his timing and he broke character and reacted to it. Bad..bad

No, I'm sure they lip-synched on the floats. I remember seeing some lip-synched.

re: Macy's THANKSGIVING day parade

When I was 7 I thought the Macy's Day Parade and the Thanksgiving Day Parade were two different things. My parents never let me live it down.
And hang on, when did you win the discus?

re: Macy's THANKSGIVING day parade

I noticed that they lip-synched when Kristin Chenoweth messed up on "One Short Day" thats when I first knew they weren't singing.

re: Macy's THANKSGIVING day parade

To answer the original question, I don't think that the appearances have been announced yet...at least I haven't seen them.

re: Macy's THANKSGIVING day parade

I performed in the parade last year- EVERYTHING is lipsync... BFO was not live last year... I saw them rehearsing (their on-site rehearsal was right before ours) and it was recorded...

re: Macy's THANKSGIVING day parade

Its cold, the weather is often bad, and the TV cameras do the numbers no justice lol. ITs just good to see the staging.
