Major lyric problem!

Posted: 11/10/05 at 10:56pmOk, I normally just read on here and keep my comments to a minimum, but I do have a question that's driving my roommates and me crazy! Sometimes when I hear a phrase, I'm like, "That's from a musical!" and go crazy til I figure out what one. Well, we have one of those phrases, and we can't figure this one out. The phrase is, "It gets old." delivered with a sarcastic tone, with sarcastic emphasis on the word "old." That may not be exactly what is said, but it's similar and is said with the same tone. For some reason I have an image of Idina saying it in the Rent or Wicked cast recording, but I'm not sure. Can any of you masters help us?! Thanks!

I think I was associating the tone it gets delivered with with the "She's my sister" from La Vie Boheme. Yeah, I know, those aren't similar at all, but oh well, at least we figured it out. Cheers!
