Posted: 8/11/04 at 3:59pmMust be a different movie with the same name..because there isn't a tracy in this Hairspray. So someone should make it!!

Posted: 8/11/04 at 4:12pmHairspray originated as a movie directed by John Waters. It starred Divine and Ricki Lake. It was a movie with music, although not the original music that was written for the Broadway musical. Should it be re-made as a full blown movie musical (a la "The Producers") with the Broadway score? I say, NO! One "Hairspray" movie is enough! It's just another over-rated Braodway show! It was a second rate movie, and it's a second rate show! (Although I love Havery Firestein, and am very much looking forward to the revival of his "La Cage Aux Folles" later this year.)

Captain... I'm not your pal, you don't know me from Adam, and I live very much in the present, thank you. It's not true that I only like "pre-2000" shows, otherwise that's all I'd go to see! I LOVED "Movin' Out" and saw it three times. I thought "Caroline or Change" was an excellent night of theatre, I enjoyed "Wicked", and I even thought "Taboo" deserved a better reception and a longer run. I saw "Dracula" in previews last Saturday night, and while I thought it still needed some fine-tuning, I already have tickets to see it again in September. Five original Broadway musicals that are far from typical "pre-2000" Broadway fare, and I thoroughly enjoyed them all and would reccomnend any one of them. There now... you know a little bit more about me.
P.S. Oh and by the way, I look a lot like Matt's icon.
