I sure hope the new cast has energy, unlike the last one.

What do you mean? I saw Mamma Mia in Las Vegas in December and I thought they were great (first time seeing it). A lot better than the Cast Recording anyways.

the only one who I enjoyed was the lady who played Rosie. They just lacked energy, and as for whoever played Sophie, there were about ten people who I went to high school with who had better voices than her. I thought she was awful.

Just saw the show in Vegas two weeks ago Fri night. The cast had plenty of energy and their voices were just fine-at least to my untrained ear. The very large theatre was 95% full for the 7:30 show and many of the audience gave a standing ovation at the end. It's a terrific venue.

I've seen the Vegas cast 3 times or so and I have to say that the cast about...2 years(?) back was the best. I can't wait to see the new stars this summer. :)

That's so exciting! There's a guy from my hometown (Omaha, NE) that back in July got a swing spot in LV. Congrats cast! Also, Robin Baxter is an absolutely brilliant Rosie...might have to drive up to see that show again. re: Mamma Mia Las Vegas

Cheers,

C.

Thanks for the sharing the pictures. This new cast is great...they have a lot of energy on stage. And their chemistry is the best I've seen for the entire cast in awhile. It seems that everyone of them is very happy to be in the show. Of course, I'm a bit biased towards Carol Linnea....but she is AWESOME as Donna. Her Winner Takes It all has become one to rival Carolee's..and for all of you who saw Carolee's version, you understand what that means!
The new Sophie is adorable but I think she could use a little more experience....she seems really young on stage.
As for the cast before this....Sophie had to have throat surgery and never quite sounded the same once she came back. So that might explain why her voice didn't sound up to par. Quite sad!

How is the tour shaping up? Has anyone seen Bekah Nutt as Sophie? I think she leaves soon and someone else who I know is going into that cast as Sophie.

Looks like Carol Linnea Johnson is having a ball in Las Vegas. I heard they treat the cast very well.

"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer

"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher

Well I guess I'm biased since it was my first time seeing it, but it didn't really seem like the kinda show you'd really want to see again.
