I am looking up tickets for January. I am going with a friend. The thing is, if I type in 1 ticket, they have row A seat 1 & then row A seat 2 which is completely opposite sides of the theatre but we wouldn't mind seperating. Then I typed in 2 tickets and it has row B seats 1 & 3. My question is, is Mamma Mia a show that you would rather sit further back for or just seperate and get the front row?
Also, I know they suspended student rush tickets through September but where are the seats for that on the Weds and Thurs that they provide them?

For a show like Mamma Mia I would actually prefer seating a little in the back, since so many things are happening on the stage I like to get a complete view.
I don't know about the student tickets, but you can find some nice discounts for Mamma Mia over at http://www.broadwaybox.com

i agree with MarkMc, i sat about halfway back in the orchestra, dead center, and it was the PERFECT view. and from what it looks like, you will be right near the orchestra, meaning it will be louder than it already is (my cousin said hes been to quiter rock concerts, it gets so loud). so sit more towards the midlle or back of the orchestra.
**just a warning about the music, the ovrture starts with a bang as soon as the guy over the PA is done talking, like a second later. the entracte for act 2 starts without even dimming the lights, or even flashing them.**

.... and Act 2 is even louder! I also vote for being a bit further back. Have a great time!!

Yeah, I would vote for mid-orchestra. It does tend to be loud, but in a good way.
I have to say I find it really amusing to see people's reaction to the beginning of Act 2...A lot of people kinda jump and are really startled. Is it wrong of me to be so amused? I think so
Have fun! Don't know who the leads will be then, but you're sure to have a good time.

Posted: 8/14/05 at 1:30pmthe beginning of act one isnt really bad, but the opening of act two scared the crap out of me the first time i went. that first set of notes was so loud... i know now to be prepred... but its not big deal its one note and its done, but yes much of the show is loud, but i dont find it to be as loud as most seem to think it is... just the opening of act two

I love this and it is so on purpose! They turn it up louder and louder each time...just that first note. I love knowing it is coming and just watching everyone's reaction.

Posted: 9/4/05 at 6:36pmHey. I know I brought this up awhile ago & I finally am going to get seats. I've seen the show already & I am aware how loud it gets but I don't mind it & neither does the person I am going with. So, would anyone on here recomend us seperating and getting Row A seat 1 & 2 or sitting together & sitting row C seats 6 & 8? Is the stage high that with 1st row, our necks will hurt? Thanks

Yes. I just saw the show again on Thursday and he was there! I also saw him as Pepper a few months ago!

Posted: 9/5/05 at 3:06amHey ILoveWicked330, I saw the show from the second row seat 1 and I loved it (but then again I always like to sit very very close!). I would take the seats in row A, but that's just me.

well i'm a londoner. i've seen it 3 times 2x front row 1 x second row
the great thing about first row is you get to see things like "inside Donna's diary" (read the sept 2 review on my website) and the close up of Sky's speedos!! it is great up close at the prince of wales..go front row!!
