One week ago I attended a performance of Manson: The Musical, and I am still unsure of how I ACTUALLY feel about the show.

One problem I DID have was regarding the fact that they had a small space, a live band, and no microphones for the actors and I was struggling to hear what the actors were saying fairly often.

But otherwise I would love to hear what others thought about the show. Also for anyone who didn't see it...what do you guys think about the concept?

When someone blunders, we say that he makes a misstep. Is it then not clear that all the ills of mankind, all the tragic misfortunes that fill our history books, all the political blunders, all the failures of the great leaders have arisen merely from a lack of skill in dancing. - Moliere

What IS the concept? Haven't heard of it. Is it the killing spree? His life in prison? Writing Helter Skelter?

Manson didn't write HELTER SKELTER. Vincent Bugliosi, the attorney who prosecuted Charles and his "family" responsible for the murders of Sharon Tate her house guests as well as Leo and Rosemary LaBianca wrote the book.

It's disturbing that there is even a musical based on this guy. Where's the musical based on the victims' lives?

Marquise-- Thank you for the clarification.

I'm not actually all that surprised by the interest. Manson is and will likely continue to be a fascinating figure.

I'd be far more interested in seeing someone try to tackle the story of how his actions lead to the later events of Polanski's life. Life's strange little intersections are filled with tales like that... His son would be in his 30's now right? or early 40s?

Yes, Polanski's son would have turned 40 this past August if he had been allowed to live. Sharon Tate would have been 66. So sad and tragic.
