Hooray for Marc! This man WORKS!
Inspired casting! Congratulations, Marc! I can hear Marc singing to the Baroness already - "...she's my little chuchi-face..."!
Damn. I really didn't want to see this show, but now I have to. I LOVES ME SOME MARC. 3 more days, Marc! I'm a commin' for ya!
I've never seen this movie...what other plum roles are there and what suggestions do people have for casting? I will definitely be seeing this..
Wow -- what a surprise -- Broadway.com runs an unconfirmed story about casting. God forbid the producers make their official decision, go through their contract negotiations and then allow themselves to be the ones to politely break the news to the folks who didn't get the role before the news is broken.
I know, I know, it's Paul's 'love of theater' that makes him put these stories up prematurely and without official confirmation. Well that and his utter disregard for journalistic integrity.

In the 1968 movie, Dick Van Dyke played the lead part of eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts and Sally Ann Howes was cast as his beautiful lady friend, Truly Scrumptious.
Good News!!

True or not. The question I pose is this:
Will casting be announced in reverse order i.e. Baroness, Baron, Childcatcher, Grandpa, Truly Scrumptious, Caractacus?? Can anyone answer that question. Thanks ever so much. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang we love you

And Sharon, I think we are holding the same thought (wish)...to see Michael Ball reprise his role as Caractacus on Broadway!

I hope they give Caractacus either to Michael Ball or a complete unknown. They don't want to start this show off with big star names and turn it into a Producers/Boy From Oz panic casting. This is one of the reasons I think the West End hasn't seen too much of a slump.

Add another to that list of wishful thinkers...

Jake, whatever reason they use for casting him, they should give him the role...he did a great job with it in the West End...chemistry with both Truly's, great with the kids and you can't beat his voice.
And when he makes his next appearance on Broadway, he WILL become a "big star name". Apologies Broadwayguy, but if you'd seen him perform in SLC you'd know he has what it takes to win over an audience.
