Margo/Charlotte

What does Margo Channing think of Charlotte Veil?

re: Margo/Charlotte

"Why settle for the moon when we have the stars" Charlotte Veil?

She probably would have liked her better after the makeover (though she might have employed her as Eve's replacement while she was still frumpy). Margo would have identified with her man problems (but Margo's ego would never have allowed her share Bill with anyone). And given a choice, she might have snagged Paul Henreid from Charlotte over Gary Merrill (though Davis in real life married Merrill -- still, I think the cigarette trick would have won Margo over).

Actually, it's Charlotte Vale, as in vale of tears.

re: Margo/Charlotte

That's the frumpy Charlotte spelling -- after she got off that damn boat with Paul Henreid, she changed her name. re: Margo/Charlotte

Would she have any advice for Katherine Sloper?

I don't think that that Morris fellow (Monty Clift) is for you. Nice enough to look at, but might be a few "problems" down the road......

Would she like Mrs. Danvers?

re: Margo/Charlotte

A possible replacement for Birdie (though its highly doubtful that she ever closed the first half in vaudeville at any point in her past). I also doubt Margo would have liked the way Ms. Danvers would feel up her lingerie.

I suppose she could not tolerate Blanche Hudson??

re: Margo/Charlotte

Well, she may have liked some of her movies, but Blanche was hardly a girl-about-town, considering the whole wheelchair thing and the crazy sister. They'd hardly "run" in the same circles.

"...after she got off that damn boat with Paul Henreid, she changed her name..."

Paul Henreid will do that to a girl.
