I'm glad that many of the actors seem to be growing into their respective roles in A CHORUS LINE. A lot of them are finding the double and triple meanings to some of their lines and have grown from just delivering a line to just speaking it (a more natural delivery that doesn't seem forced). Some have become stereotypes of the stereotypes they started out as.

I actually thought Deidre had improved the most in the acting department (I last saw it right after opening). She took a lot of the sass out and made Sheila more dimensional.

Also, Michael Berresse gave a much better performance than he had the first time I saw it.

There are still a few performers that don't seem to understand what creating a character means.

Margo, you should take a trip to Toronto and environs in 2007. It would be nice to see some Canadian productions on your list next year. :) Maybe Stratford, the Shaw Festival, and a few independent productions in Toronto? You missed a wonderful Songs for a New World in December, but you can still catch Elegies next month, if you hurry! Lots of wonderful theatre, even though it is still shows like Wicked which sell out for weeks on end.

I would absolutely love to take in the Shaw and Stratford Festivals sometime. I've never had the time/opportunity to go and I always hear great things about the productions there. Can't make it in the next month, but perhaps I can try next year.
