I took the comment "I don't think she deserved it yet." to mean that the poster has yet to see the talent that deserved the 2003 Tony, not that she doesn't have a large enough body of work.

i was so excited when abc first started advertising it. I mean let's face it what is not to like: fran drescher, marissa, and mark consuelos. Plus what they advertised as great original songs. Let me see where did they go wrong with this movie-just bad script. I think that's all I can say.

WTF?? is what I ask too. I am not talking about Lifetime Achievement Awards or anything like that. If that's how you took it, then you just answered your own question. I just felt that her performances was not worth Tony Award winning.
And MOLJUL understood me right. Marissa was out of her league. But as with the Tony Awards, they award one show, they award everyone in that show. She just got lucky.
And please, why take this personally?

marisa deserved the tony. i really liked her speech after she won about chubby girls. plus im not the biggest bernadette fan, so i was happy she didn't win.

Every single person nominated deserved the Tony. They are all talented people. Oh and whoever wins obviously deserved the award...they don't just pull names out of a hat. "Oh Peters is a legend, she should have one!" That didn't work this time.

I would have to agree...her singing voice is not the best. In the Hairspray soundtrack there are several times where her voice goes flat..and thats on a recording! ugh. I mean it works for Tracy but from what I heard on Beautiful girl she isnt much of a singer in person either.
