I am letting everyone know that after 27 years for various reasons I'm retired from Colony Records I will miss it as well as my great Broadway customers.

27 years...WOW!

It's such a great store. Have always found great sheet music there.

It's just such a shame that the dvds and cds are so overpriced.........like by 300%. And, the same with the various celeb merchandise in the display cases. They've been in there for so many years, that the flourscent lights have faded a lot of the stuff. WAY, WAY overpriced.

While I do think that The Colony is a great store, I do echo the comments made by nealb1 that the products in stock are somewhat over priced. But, one thing I can be thankful to them about is how they let me take shelter there when I was killing time between a show if it was freezing out etc, or if it was raining.

Winston, very very true. I've killed time in Colony many times before seeing a show. With Virgin closing early next year, I'll have to find another place to hang out before a show.

Even thought the prices may be a bit much at Colony it was always great to know that they had what you wanted (and they had cool things that you did not know you needed....) I spent plenty of time and money there on my trips to New York City.

I also love the Karaoke Section. I used to be the filler at drag shows while they changed and needed music to perform and always found some great theater and pop stuff that you could never get at the local mall.

I love that place. enjoy your retirement Marty!

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."
