I think that they both are part of the amazing God of all male singers. i must say that i personally sway towards billy porter. what do you guys think?!?!
i still love marty...but billy porter, come on!

Posted: 5/1/05 at 6:27pmmarty and billy both have very diffrent voices and they sing very diffrent stuff and have a diffrent kind of range.Yhey are not alike in any way.If you look at my thread "Marty thomas singing defying gravity" i mention the type of vocal technique that marty has and that i study the same thing.But i would go towards marty,but i love billy hes amazigly talented.I like them equally both.But i dont like this whole thing about comparing two very diffrent performers and singers lol(my opinion)

you cant really say they are different kinds of singers when they basically sing the same style of music. they both have very soulful sounds which is why marty sings back up for billy on billys new cd "at the corner of broadway and soul". they are very similar and thats why marty also sings Love is on the way on his cd on cdbaby.com.

Posted: 5/1/05 at 8:16pmMarty and Billy both have the same "kind" of voice, in my mind. They're both raging R&B belting tenors. They're in the same category to me. But I would say Marty, because he is more reliable. I've heard Billy to be on-and-off on his vocal power, getting sick a lot. Still love him, and I think he should have been the Witch in the Into the Woods revival. It's bull that HE can sing the songs in the original key, but Vanessa Williams can't.
