Just saw her show in Provincetown. Holy Cow! She's amazing. Hairspray was just the tip of the iceburg. She SANG for an hour and a half and was hilarious. She was crazy, funny, over-the-top, and tore the roof off the place with every number. She did "I know Where I've Been" (beautiful) and mypersonal favorite, "The Dieters Prayer" (i think was the name of the song, very funny).

Does any one know what she's up to next? Is she going to do solo shows in NY? or be in anything in the near future?

She also mentioned she turning her apartment into a performance space, and she's going to cook and make drinks while people perform. Sounds fabulous!

I saw her at the Metropolitan Room last Thanksgiving. It was one of the best evenings out I've ever had. She's just amazing. I can't believe she's more of a fixture at least on the cabaret scene. Just awesome.

At that performance, she said she was recording her stint at the Metropolitan for a live CD but I've never heard anything else about it since.

I very rarely post gushes for individual performers, but in this case, I must: I am seriously in love with this woman! I envy anyone who gets a chance to see her show. And to think of her being so hospitable while using her apartment as a performance space ... She's the kind of person you just want to walk up to and hug. Love her.

She really was the best for Motormouth Maybelle. She was also very sweet at the stage door when I saw Hairspray.
