Never - she doesn't have the vocal skills. Although she is a very good recording artist, live, she is truly awful! Plus, the role involves a lot of physical movement and I don't think I've ever seen her move from the spot.

Watch out AngusN. There was a Whitney thread that was deleted because of attacks (vulgar) from whateverman. Besides, every day since joining, there have been 1 or 2 ludicrous "inside" casting announcements.

Funny; but Mary J. Blige would be very talented. She emotionally connects with her songs I believe. I remember being in awe of her 2004 Grammy performance of "No More Drama" But being the star of a broadway tour is not really her. Would the green make-up cover the multiple tatoos all over her arms etc? Like I've said since day one, Heather Headley as Elphaba...but I may be alone on this one. :-P

Cheers,

C.
