Mary Poppins FULL ORIGINAL CAST

I cannot believe that I saw for the first time (and the last - as there will be character change soon) MARY POPPINS FULL ORIGINAL CAST.
I am sad because of Laura Michelle Kelly, David Haig, and Linzi Hateley left.
I would like to thank them all, especially to Laura and Linzi for such a great voice!!

The replacement are (from Whatsonstage.com):
LMK - Scarlett Strallen (I used to be her fan in chitty2 bang2)
David Haig -->Aden Gillet
Linzi Hateley-->Eliza Lumley

I saw everyone except Laura Michelle Kelly (Angry jump and pout.) Other than that, I saw the original cast. Did you know that Linzi Hately was Carrie in the musical, "Carrie?"

I saw them twice and will see them this coming Thurs again... hopefully they haven't gone yet! And yeah... Linzi was Carrie and she's ALWAYS fab!

DAME: Well, they're going to lighten the show up for Broadway from West End (damn children!) However, with a little more American and less British, it should be a hit in the states. Hopefully.

Would you please clarify "lighten the show for Broadway"? Do you mean take out the "trial" scene?

I saw it mary poppins for the third time yesterday (the first time with full original cast yesterday). I know where LMK will be going. Anybody knows where linzi will b going?

ruthiefan_felix, the cast change will be on 29 Oct (last performance of original cast - ticket is fully booked)

What dissapoint me is that they deleted the encore of supercalifragilistic-expialidocious in the end.

Kec: I really don't know how they're going to lighten up the show for Broadway. I heard from I think Playbill.com that they were going to change the design of the show, as if you seen the show, the opening is somewhat dark in it's appearence, so maybe they will just change the appearence of he show. They had better keep the toy scene and "Brimstone and Treacle" in there. The latter was my favorite part of the evening (I'm a twisted child, I know.)

From the pics I've seen Linzi Hateley resembles Glynis Johns from the original Poppins film.

Will she be taking a rest or will she be going into another project?
Is Laura Michelle Kelly also going to be doing anything after Poppins?
If the show transers to Broadway will they get Laura Michelle to reprise her role or do you think they will re-cast it with an American actress?

Dark? It opens with Bert singing Chim Chim Cheree. Granted the lyrics are changed to talk about trouble in a houshold, but that didn't seem dark to me.

Marquise, I have read comments that indicate that LMK will be returning to Broadway to reprise her role when Mary Poppins gets to Broadway. I don't know how accurate the stories are though.

Kec: I meant dark VISUALLY! Other than that, it's what you'd excpect from a Disney Musical opening.

Thanks for the clarification. I have seen comments about the tone of the show being somewhat dark, hence my confusion...

Pulling away from the opening number argument, who just LOVED Rosemary Ashe's portrayl of Ms. Andrews? She was the robber of the whole thing! I couldn't stop thinking of her part in the show (I'm listening to her song on the C. D. now!)

Rosemary Ashe is an extraordinary performer

Brimstone and Treacle my favourite liquor, that will make runaway stop
