She will have to leave early for fiddler. And how does someone get on Broadway without formal training?

She must be pretty good. She left school at age 16 to join the West End cast of Beauty and the Beast? Wow- thats really young.

I did think Ruthie would have been perfect, but I remember reading that they wanted a younger Poppins, closer to original book character. I also think Matine McCutcheon would have been great, but I know she received too much flack for her missed performances in My Fair Lady. She was an amazing Eliza, though.

The only problem I have is the fact that I don't like Mary Poppins. The movie was ok, but I hated that character! She was a lying witch who betrayed the children. I would get so mad every time I saw it! Remove the scene where she makes the children look like liars in front of their father and maybe I wouldn't mind so much. Did this bother anyone else?

Very good point about Poppins Matt.

I also (as a child) found it very disturbing how she acted towards Burt. I always figured she was a slut who would come and use him for her own pleasure and then leave whenever she felt things were getting too personal. Isn't it sad that I thought of that when I was probably 8 or 9 years old. re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Mary Poppins confirmed

What is wrong with the eyebrows?

I was lucky enough to see her this summer when my family went to London. I thought she was very good except in the second act she sounded like her nose was blocked. I met her after the show and she was nice enough to sign my program. I wish the best for her.

I second in wanting Ruthie Henshall for Mary!

But why hasn't Ruthie performed as Sally Bowles yet???
