Is this what it will take to have another long running musical in Toronto? 1st Producers & then Hairspray die on the vine but Mamma Mia! keeps on churning. Is that what is needed -theatre for the minvan set or familiarity frm pop culture? Just a personal rant from disappointment.
You're getting Mary Poppins ( it hasn't even officially opened yet) and CHITTY ( it's still flying across the pond and has not reached JFK...er...Broadway) that soon?
I think theatre taste has become more universal and now appeals to a broader segment. It's good to have both serious stuff and frivolous fun
