Mary Zimmerman's "Candide" Coming to Broadway- Page 2

I saw it in Chicago last year and really liked it, although it did drag quite a bit in the second act. I really loved that it knew exactly where its heart was, and you really felt that Candide had grown tremendously, although it took a lot of meandering before that point was reached. With some tightening up (which I heard has happened since), I think it would make a very good piece. It wasn't quite the best thing I'd ever seen, but it had huge potential, and I can only hope that Zimmerman has done her best to reach that.
