Posted: 2/5/07 at 3:11pmIt's been on the list before the broadway prodcution. Universal got the rights for the book because they thought it would make a good movie. However, they decided to turn it into a musical instead which became highly successful. I think the whole make a movie out of wicked came across during the recent couple of years when popular shows were turned into movies. Someone saw that shows such as rent, chicago and the producers were becoming movies. So, they thought that wicked would make a good movie and then they posted it and now lots of people agree or because they read it in a post they think that it is going to actually happen.
