Lupino Lane, the original Bill Snibson broke the show's second half in two by talking to the audience and getting them to do a men-on-one-side-ladies-on-the-other sing-along of Lambeth Walk. Then he did ten minutes of patter and pratfalls then kind of eased back into the show. Apparently, it was one big happy party. And where did he do this? During the spot where "Leaning on a Lampost" is now. That song was never in the original production. It was a hit song written for a man who made Rondo Hatton look handsome named George Forby (apologies for those who know this).
