Hi everyone, I'm new here and really excited to get to know everyone. I just wanted to tell everyone how excited I am getting over Mel Brooks ne musical project, he is currently in development for "Young Frankenstein the musical". Posted: 5/17/03 at 5:50pmThe problem is, he has a really hard act to follow - The Producers. It's going to have to be *wow* to gain any support from the critics, the expectation will be HUGE. Plus, is he going to do all of his films into shows? Why not just do an original one?

Haven't we had enough movies being made into musicals? Assuming that "Hairspray" wins this year, we'll have had 3 Tony's in a row going to Broadway-ized old movies.
I think in the old days it was the reverse -- successful Broadway shows got made into movies.
