Having not won in my couple attempts, I can't comment on the seating (though I'm fairly sure they said rear mezzanine?)--but I tried twice last week and it wasn't a really massive crowd, I'd say about forty people, if that, vying for seventeen seats. I don't know if that seat count varies but that's what it was. Hope this helps!
I did the lotto for last Saturday's matinee (11/20/10). Everyone won, and there were seats left over--which the box office promptly sold out at full price to people waiting in the cancellation line (who, I suppose, didn't know about the lotto). My seat was in the last row of the mezz, dead center. It's a small theater, and I felt very close to the action. Other seats lottoed were farther to the side, but not in the extreme side/obstructed seats. The show itself was stunning, and I wish I could go again!
I won two Fridays ago out of a big crowd of about 50 people. We got called maybe 3rd to last so our seats were on the very far left of the last row of the mezzanine, but they were great seats. We could see everything and didn't feel too far away from the action. Obviously it's hard to say whether or not you could win, but try as many times as you can b/c it's a great show!
