Pretty amazing. A very controlled performance and really got the character down. It was so great to see someone who really played a cold Joanne during Take Me Or Leave Me, even though her vocals could reach way past the back of the house.
How about Natalie Venetia Belcon, she is my favorite.

I saw Rent in 99 and the only specific cast member I remember was Manley Pope as Roger, but they all rocked!. Are there any websites that would have casts listed per year?
On Merle - I love her voice in Tarzan, so I can only imagine what an awesome Joanne she could play!

Posted: 12/14/06 at 7:05pmThe first time I saw Rent was in 2000 with Manley Pope too. He was excellent. You probably saw Natalie as Joanne, she was the major stand out for me.

Posted: 12/14/06 at 7:13pmI saw it back in 2002 with Manley Pope, Matt Caplan, Merle Dandridge and Jai Rodriguez. It was a phenomenal cast, and Merle definetely stood out in my mind. They were a fantastic cast.

You rock, thanks! Ha, I saw Wilson in the role of Angel! I get to say I saw one original cast member. Woohoo! Only if I could remember. Manley was awesome.
Anyway, it states the Joanne I saw as "Kenna".

Posted: 12/14/06 at 10:33pmMerle was a good Joanne, not a standout, in my opinion but good. Natalie was an excellent Joanne, but Danielle Lee Greaves was even better, as was Kenna Ramsey back in the day.
