Hey guys!
Just wanted to let you know about the production of Merrily in NYC. Due to rave reviews and a well-recieved run at the Gene Frankel Theatre, Downtown, the show is being extended and moved to a bigger and better venue in the theatre district. Tickets are available at www.smarttix.com. It is a really good production and great cast! A great way too see this great Sondheim show that is rarely produced. Hope to see some of you there!

Oh, I wish I could see this!
I want to see a production of this musical so bad.
Wait....did I forget to mention that I am in this production?
Come see and support me!
YAAAAAY!
Cheers,

Cool. Saw you guys at the Gene Frakel theatre downtown. It was so hot that day, I thought I was going to die. But, all of you did a great job. Maybe if I have some extra cash on me, I'll come and check it out again. You can't beat Sondheim!
Thanks for coming that day, I know, we were dying too, but that was the theatre's fault....they should have had better air conditioning facilities. However, I can say that this theatre IS air conditioned, and very comfortable.....I hope you do catch us again - we have some new people who are excellent in their roles, and it is a completely different show!
Cheers,
The Balladeer
Cool. I will definitely try and make it...It will be nice to see it air conditioned. I bet all of you were dying! Who did you play by the way?
OMG, i HAVE to see it! (considering that it was my high school musical last year, and i was in the cast!!!)
what part to you play, TheBalladeer?

It wasn't worth the 50 bucks they were charging, but it wasn't bad either. people on ATC were making it out to be a complete train wreck when in fact it was quite enjoyable. there were some issues (I found one of the leads unbelievable and another went over the top on occasion which was distracting) but nothing that ruined it for me (other than the price). I can honestly say, because of the price, if I hadn't had a friend in the show, I wouldn't have seen it.

If you enjoyed that revival of 'Merrily,' that's good for you (and your friend), but a number of folks at All That Chat weren't the only ones who thought it was an overpriced debacle. Barbara and Scott Siegel at TheaterMania said, 'It would be unfair to call the performers inept; they are simply too raw to be performing in such a venue.' And Adam Feldman of Time Out New York said this 'preposterously incompetent' and 'poorly directed' revival 'lasts nearly three torturous hours. In short ... it's a mediocre college show that merits review only for the dumbfounding gall of its $50 ticket price.'
the main reason why i didn't see it was also b/c of the price. it seemed too much for me, and i guess most people agree. thanks. :)
